Stewart best poised to tackle the city’s housing affordability crisis, says Davies
Vancouver - Today, Vancouver Kingsway NDP MP Don Davies endorsed Kennedy Stewart’s bid to become the next mayor of Vancouver.
“Kennedy is the mayor Vancouver needs to tackle the housing affordability crisis,” said Vancouver Kingsway NDP MP, Don Davies. “His plan to create more affordable housing is ambitious, but achievable. His focus on non-profit-run rental housing will bring much-needed relief to renters and families in Vancouver.”
“This election is likely to bring an array of voices to council,” said Davies. “One of Kennedy’s greatest strengths is his ability to bring people of all political leanings together to work toward a common goal. I feel confident in his ability to do that at city hall and bring about meaningful change for Vancouverites.”
“As an MP, Kennedy was a passionate advocate for his constituents,” continued Davies. “Whether he was working to save co-op housing units or helping local residents stand up to Kinder Morgan, Kennedy was always ready to roll up his sleeves and get to work. I know he will do the same as mayor of Vancouver.”
Stewart is running as an independent candidate for mayor in the October 20 Vancouver municipal election.
